SmartPD	A school district's professional development program usually consists of many people creating, organizing, and carrying out various tasks simultaneously. SmartPD is an online application that allows all personnel involved in developing staff development activities to work together. It allows all the parts of a professional development program to be easily viewed from one online location, from any computer in school or at home. Faculty members are notified of a link from their district website that will address all their professional development issues, needs and questions. SmartPD features include: interactive district policy pages, workshop offerings, online registration for training, course opportunities & announcements, faculty PDP records, and many other functions. With a staff that's comfortable using SmartPD, a district will have its entire professional development information available to them in an efficient, well organized, and easy-to-access display.

SmartSURVEYS	Situations occur when a school or company needs to have input from the public, from their staff, or from a targeted audience. Online surveys can be a very effective way of collecting, and analyzing data for a district or business. SmartSURVEYS, allows an organization to create its own web surveying system. This online application is capable of offering any number of live surveys to be filled out by your target audience. There is no limit to the number of questions you can ask, or to the number of responses you can collect. SmartSURVEYS users can follow pre-made questions already available, or create your own. The real beauty of this system is that the administrator of the survey has access to the results of the collected data, in both chart and graphic format. This makes "raw data" turn into "useable information" that can be used for presentations or reports of any kind. With a little advertising directed to your target audience, the link to your online SmartSURVEYS can be the key to making efficient data driven decisions within your work environment.

SMARTCalendar	SmartCALENDAR is an easy-to-use, online scheduling application that allows multiple users to input events, functions, meetings, facility bookings, or sports schedules for the school/community to see. A calendar style screen is made available from a link (usually placed on a district or individual school's website) for staff to click on a date that allows them to see a detailed schedule of events for that day. Faculty members would also have the ability to submit a new event or activity and, after approval, would be able to view it, online, under the desired date. Separate calendars may be purchased for each building, team, club, or organization, and maintained separately. Additionally, if two or more Calendars are purchased, the district automatically receives a "district calendar" that merges all the data from the individual calendars into one place. This is particularly handy for administrators to use when trying to avoid conflicts while planning events. A popular use of this product is for scheduling "facility usage" such as athletic fields, auditoriums, gymnasiums and computer laboratories.

TSS	TSS is the cost effective software solution used for tracking technology problems and equipment inventories. This system improves efficiency by allowing computer users in your district to report and find solutions to many technology system problems through a friendly online environment. TSS features four customizable levels of password-protected functions for reporting, tracking and responding to technology problems, viewing and printing reports, and inputting and updating equipment inventory data. Likewise, TSS reduces the need for highly trained technology personnel by allowing existing staff to use their time in the most efficient manner.

SMARTAlumni	It's natural for high school alumni to want to stay-in-touch after graduation, and be able to contact their old friends over the years. SmartALUMNI allows you to do this effectively and easily, using an online data collection application. Graduates may register their information, search a desired year for friends, or leave messages (perhaps a reunion announcement) for members of their class. All registrations and messages are required to go though an approval process to verify their legitimacy. The SmartALUMNI application is usually accessed from a button on a district website or a district's high school website. A brief advertising campaign to the alumni population usually announces where your SmartALUMNI application is located and how it can be accessed. After that, word-of-mouth will spread very quickly that an online tool is available to submit/update alumni data, and that graduates now have an easy way to connect with their old friends. This application is an excellent tool for alumni associations, or for guidance departments trying to maintain post graduation records.

eNews	The eNewsletter is an excellent way to communicate with parents and the community, and greatly enhances the functionality of your school's web site. For a small fee, your school gains unlimited access to this Internet-based application. Current and archived eNewsletter issues are viewable online or may be printed out on paper using the printer friendly function. In addition, eNewsletter allows teachers, parents, and students to submit articles to the eNews editor for future publication.

SIMSViewer^TM	The Massachusetts Department of Education has mandated that all students in the state have 52 data elements collected, four times a year, for statistical analysis purposes. Although this is a very tedious job for school district data collectors, it is the first effort to standardize the content and format of student data throughout the state. Recognizing that all Massachusetts schools create this data on a required and regular basis, SmartEDU has created our SIMSViewer product. It has enabled data managers, and school administrators, to utilize their own SIMS data for district information analysis. SIMSViewer clients are required to do simple "second step" after they have submitted their 10/1, 12/1, 3/1 and EOY data to the DOE. The client sends the identical data files, in the same format as sent to the DOE) to SmartEDU through a secure FTP website. The district then goes through a "setup process" where (1) the data is placed on our SSL encrypted server containing certification keys to insure client privacy, and (2) a link is created to allow the client to access their own data via the SIMSViewer program. The beauty of this program is that the link may be placed on ANY Internet accessible computer in the client district. This allows the data manager AND key data collectors and users throughout the district to enjoy access and querying capabilities of this information. SIMSViewer give you an online list of all the updated DOE field codes at your fingertips. It also allows you one, two, or three parameter questioning of your data by simply filling in dropdown boxes with the field you desire to query. Results are displayed in chart format allowing quick and understandable answers to daily statistical questions. The chart data may be printed to your local printer, or it may be transferred into an excel spread spreadsheet for further manipulation. The program contains two levels of use: (1) ADMINISTRATOR: access to all 52 elements including student names, LASIDs, and SASIDS, and (2) VIEWER: access to the statistical data only, (47 elements) with NO access to student identification of any kind. This was done for privacy reasons, so all staff members, and even the public, could view and analyze the school data if desired. Both levels are password protected. The ADMINISTRATOR mode would only be given to key data administrators or trusted school officials. The program itself was built to be extremely easy to use. Manipulating SIMSViewer is very intuitive and allows the user to start using it as soon as they have seen it one time. This is a great advantage over many of the cumbersome student information systems that may or may not have global accessibility by the district. Benefits of using the SIMSViewer application: · SIMSViewer is an inexpensive solution to extending the capacities of your district's student information system. · SIMSViewer requires no special re-formatting of the previously created student data. · SIMSViewer ensures that the student data is secure. A privacy contract is signed by both SmartEDU and the client to insure the data is not compromised in any way. Also, once the data is setup for the district, it may not be changed or manipulated in any way. This is a "read-only" application. · SIMSViewer is extremely easy of use. This opens up immediate use by key personnel throughout a district. · SIMSViewer takes the burden away from data managers for routine querying of student data and empowers the administrators, and specified staff members, to do their own analysis. · SIMSViewer makes use of formerly static data that schools have already collected as required by the state. It turns "raw data" into "useful information".
